Description
While walking along Cannery Row with a couple hundred of my closest friends, I stepped off the tourist path and went behind the buildings. I just wanted to get away from the closed in feeling of being around too many people.
What I found was a delightful look at what the area may have looked like before the tourist makeover. Great rich gritty textures and rust from the seawater of Monterey Bay had turned old pilings and piers into beautiful art.
I was so enthralled with this old place I didn't realize the sea gull had perched itself back and center in the image until after I had taken the shot!
This piece and all other works in the galleries represent Art with a global flair.
Its an eclectic mixture of styles and topics, influenced by a variety of world cultures. When we surround ourselves with artwork our lives are enriched.
Like good books they linger in our being and help shape who we are and how we view the world.
Having a favorite piece of art or two around to view on a regular basis is good for your spirit and that is always worth the investment.
The images are available in a variety of formats and sizes.

Love the rugged and decayed industrial feel in this coastal beauty Kandy.
Kandy Hurley replied:
Thanks James Monterey has certainly come a long way from industrial feel of Cannery Row but if you look close it’s still there.
