Product Details

Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

Artist's Description

While visiting The City of 10,000 Buddha's on a warm spring afternoon I came across this lovely fellow. He was roosting up in a tree branch and the dappled light highlighted his tail so perfectly, luckily the Peafowls are used to people and he sat still for me. The male peacock or Indian Peafowl has iridescent blue-green or green colored plumage. The peacock tail is not the tail quill feathers but the highly elongated upper tail covert feathers. The eyes are best seen when the peacock fans its tail. Both species have a crest atop the head. Many cultures have revered the peacock and have included the bird in myths. In Hellenistic imagery, the Greek goddess Hera's chariot was pulled by peacocks, birds not known to Greeks before the conquests of Alexander. Alexander's tutor, Aristotle, refers to it as "the Persian bird." This piece and all other works in the galleries represent Art with a global flair.
