Artist's Description
When I lived on Florida's Intercoastal Waterway there was a Mangrove forest nearby.
The Mangrove seeds develop before they detach from the mother tree becoming elongated in shape as they grow.
Eventually the seeds become a few inches in length as well as heavy & break off to begin their journey into the world. and I like the way they drop from the mother tree and begin their life with help from the currents of the water, providing a balance that can only be achieved by working together.
I’m reminded of this every time I look at this work and its part of the reason it’s a personal favorite.
