Adinkra Mmusuyidee metal print by Kandy Hurley. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

From my series Adinkra Symbols of West Africa. Mmusuyidee represents good fortune.
The Adinkra are visual symbols, originally created by the Akan. The symbols represent concepts or aphorisms.
Adinkra symbols are used extensively in fabrics and pottery They are incorporated into walls and other architectural features.
Fabric Adinkra are often made by woodcut sign writing as well as screen printing.
While the symbols have a decorative function they also represent objects that encapsulate evocative messages that convey traditional wisdom, aspects of life or the environment.
There are many different symbols with distinct meanings.
