Closely linked by DNA, gorillas are one of the four species of great apes that are the closest living relatives of humans. This magnificent fella caught and held my gaze reminding me just how closely related we are. It should be remembered that gorillas are on the endangered species list. Loss of habitat as well as climate change have threatened their way of life.
I was the kid who loved the big box of crayons. I still get that feeling of anticipation with every new project, it's why I continue to explore art in a wide variety of mediums.
