Description
One of the most photographed bridges in the world is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The iconic rusty color is actually the color of the original primer and it was the final color choice thanks to Irving Morrow, the Golden Gate's consulting architect. Morrow noticed the striking reddish-orange primer painted on some of the steel and decided it was perfect as is. He championed for this to be the final color and was successful in selling the idea.
