Artist's Description

From the series The Phantasmagorical Farmyard
Mythological creatures, some are human defined, some are a combination of two or more species and some are symbolic.
This series celebrates all of those definitions. The work in this series is mixed media I've use a combination of vintage public domain graphics along with my original art and completed the art in a digital format.

This work represents The Boar, this particular one accompanies our journey with his talent for music.
The Boar has played an important part in Mythology.
In most european pagan traditions, the wild boar shows up with a featured role in the stories.
In many stories the boar represents a solar deity, which is a sky deity. A solar deity represents the sun, or an aspect of its perceived power and strength.
Sun worship can be found throughout most of recorded history in various forms.
