Description
The waning crescent moon, sometimes called an old moon, occurs when the Moon is nearly, but not precisely, on a line with the Earth and Sun.
Waning (old) crescent moon can usually be seen in the Western hemisphere
in the morning hours.
This particular image was captured on The Sea of Cortez in the morning hours, the moon just seemed to stand out against the brilliant blue sky.
The images are available in a variety of formats and sizes.
