Great title for this amazing window capture, Kandy! So sad to see the bars and dilapidated state of this wonderful architectural detail! L/F/T

Kandy Hurley replied:

Thanks Hanne, it was the window blinds that initially caught my attention and the I stepped back and saw the windows in their entirety.

Artist's Description

There are many definitions to be found that describe architectural photography. I like this one, it is the photographing of buildings and similar structures that are both aesthetically pleasing and accurate representations of their subjects. For me windows are compelling I find myself looking not only at the shapes of a window, but I wonder about what goes on behind the window. This image had me noticing that even though the blinds had become so brittle from the hot sun light they were still being used for shade. This piece and all other works in the galleries represent Art with a global flair. Its an eclectic mixture of styles and topics, influenced by a variety of world cultures. When we surround ourselves with artwork our lives are enriched. Like good books they linger in our being and help shape who we are and how we view the world. Having a favorite piece of art or two around to view on a regular basis is an investment in your spirit and that is always worth the investment....
