Description

A winters tide at Carmel by the Sea. I captured this image on a cloudy, drizzly winter afternoon, or what I think of as a perfect beach day.
Often shortened to simply Carmel This is a small picturesque city located in Monterey County California. It is situated on the Monterey peninsula and has a history of being known as an artists colony
Early city councils were dominated by artists, and the city has had several mayors who were poets or actors, including Herbert Heron, founder of the Forest Theater and perhaps the most well known of this era actor-director Clint Eastwood, who was mayor for one term, from 1986 to 1988.
Today the small bustling city is known for great restaurants and high end shops. Thankfully the beach itself has continued to retain its easy going laid back style and has remained a dog friendly beach with free parking.

This piece and all other works in the galleries represent Art with a global flair.
Its an eclectic mixture of styles and topics, influenced by a variety of world cultures. When we surround ourselves with artwork our lives are enriched.
